This
is where all my non-40k stories are. Fantasy and some sci-fi.
If
you're looking for the Opuscule, there should be a link right about
here.

| A
stranger arrives in the village of Ostholz, bearing dire news.
This was one of my entries for
the Invasion! competition run by the Black Library. It was unsuccessful
(obviously, or it wouldn't be here) but I liked it so much I wrote
it anyway. It's fairly long, but I beg you to give a read!.

| As
His time comes, God considers His last gift to humanity.
Just a little musing on matters
religious, inspired by some
findings that were in the news recently.

| An
artist's quest for perfection brings him some unusual clients.
This was inspired by Chun's The
Clients of Caralios (see the link to Chun's Corner in the
Links page). Beyond that, it's a strange
little story, and I'm not entirely sure where it came from.

| A
witch's efforts to end her exile are almost at an end.
A flawed little story I wrote for
a competition, where the subject matter was alien witches. Not,
I found, the easiest subject matter. I didn't really do it justice,
but this story is not all bad.

| My
take on time travel.
This story started when I wondered
what if there was no paradox in time travel. What if all of the
complications and ramifications simply didn't exist? What if time
travel was as consequence-free as air travel (yes, I know)?

| A
hitman prepares to complete his task in this steampunk tale.
This was a story written late one
night for the Monthly Writing Workshop at Imperial
Literature. It had to feature a steampunk gangster unearthing
a statue in midair. No, really! First of all I came up with A
Scream of Brass which I'm hoping will get published online,
and then I came up with this at the last minute.

The
Gallery of Judge Akil |
|
| Set
in a near-future mid-East country, Judge Akil's link to his Gallery
is malfunctioning, but he chose the wrong shop for a repair.
This was another story written one morning for The
Studio at Relic Forums. I got the idea from a phrase that
popped into my head, "hating someone is so exhausting",
and from there wondered how and why someone would get rid of their
hate, and other deleterious emotions. The Judge came out of that,
and so did the Gallery. The Oscar Wilde reference should be easy
enough to spot!

| In
the middle of the forest in the middle of the night is a lonely
place to be.
I wrote this originally for a compo at Imperial
Literature (the catch being that someone had to lose their
shirt at some point). I missed the deadline for the compo :-(
Wouldn't have won anyway, but I kind of liked the story, so here
it is.
